some assembly required |
While I was at work Canyon called to let me know that the mower wouldn't start. I wasn't surprised because the gas was in the mower all winter. I worried that my lawn may become more of a jungle than it already was, so I went straight home to try to get the mower started. Canyon had to go to work so after a short struggle I got it started. Thank God because I REALLY needed to mow. Check this out..
I'm gonna need a bigger mower |
That is a bumper crop of grass. You have no doubt heard the joke, "You might be a redneck if when you mow the yard you find a car in there." I didn't find a car but I did find an Easter egg that was left over from the big hunt. By the way, grass that long makes it difficult to scoop poop, so my apologies to anyone who's child may have stepped in a 'chocolate bunny' over Easter.
So when I was mowing I did notice that the flowers are blooming. The bad news is the flowers were in the middle of my yard, and they were dandylions. The good news is I have a program through Earl May and I was going that way so I stopped in to pick up my next step (weed and feed).
When I got there they had a sign setting right inside the door that made me laugh. I ran to the truck to get my camera..
this can't be legal |
I had reservations about showing this to Robyn, she has been doing great about not buying everything she sees.
Sigh. She's off the wagon, pray for me. |
Does she look guilty in that picture, or is it just me? Oh well, we had a good run.
Luckily, today is Sunday and Robyn can go to confession. Seriously, it is Sunday and of course we went into church to see friends, have a donut, and worship God. Everytime I hear the awesome music they play at Point of Grace it lifts my spirits. There are so many talented people volunteering their time I don't know how it could do anything but lift spirits. Here's a short video I took to honor the band..
On the subject of Christ, check out this link. This guy is heck of a good artist.
After church we went out to the ball park to watch one of our niece's play softball. Mercedes' team could play in the championship game if they win today. Mercedes played catcher and had a couple good plays. Here's a picture of her with one of her team mates.
Mercedes on the right. (Proud mom on the far left) |
I also caught this sweet action shot of Mercedes putting the wood to the ball.
CRACK! She breaks for first as the ball heads for third. |
Unfortunatly, they did not win this game. I hate to say it, but it is the first game Robyn and I made it to so we are thinking that the Griswald effect may have something to do with the loss. Her parents (Mike and Stacie) have asked us to please stay home next time.
In closing, let me just remind you to keep well groomed because you don't want this..
I might be a red neck |
Peace
Dan

Dan, I was so impressed with that artist...wow, what a beautiful picture of every phase of Christs events that lead up to the reserrection. It really shows it all....I am so impressed and moved. Thanks for sharing that.
I hope my grass doesn't look like that when we get home! I really won't be able to find my car if it is....wait a minute...you might be a...HEY!
I absolutely loved that artist vid.
My grass is getting very long. I'll wait for Dave a little longer then I'll have to hire someone.
