NOW FOR SOMETHING COMPLETELY DIFFERENT

Fasten your seatbelts and grab ahold of something, we are blogging like never before.

I'm going to start with something that everybody is doing.  The eagle cam in Decorah is the hit of the internet.  At anyone time there are 25000 people logged on to see what the eagles will do next.  Sometimes it is just wind ruffled feathers but just the other day Canyon and I logged on to see the mother eagle tear apart some small dead animal and feed the chicks.  What magnificant creatures.  I am excited to see them learn to fly.  Check out this link and put it in your favorites so you can keep tabs on the hatchlings.

You can copy and paste this in your browser if it won't work for you.

I have a friend (who isn't all there) that dosen't have a computer, so he went to Decorah to personally see the eagles.  He sent me this pic.

You know what else is all the rage?  American Idol!  There is such a talent pool there I can't tell who will win.  last week every singer hit a home run.  Here is a link where you can see the past performances in case you missed them.  (my favorite is James Durban)  It's incredible to think that these amazing singers would be undiscovered without this TV show..

I can't wait till they go out on tour, I hope they make a stop in Des Moines.

Here's something that makes me want to sing, it's my favorite sign of spring.  Magnolia trees.  When they bloom it's a sign that the nice weather is going to stick around.  I was on my way to a side job and snapped this pic because it brought me such joy.

It's blooming beautiful, it is
And not to be outdone, here are the buds on my own tree..

Magnolia wannabe

With spring in the air it can only mean one thing...  Easter is coming!

At church we have been doing a month long series on the true meaning of Easter (The crucifixion and resurection of Christ)  It has been very enlightening.  To really understand what Jesus did for us on the cross you should watch 'The Passion of the Christ'.  I had no idea of the pain and humiliation that Jesus suffered through to pay the penelty for our sins.  Here is a link that you can check out to see the video portion of the services we are doing.

Many times I wonder how God can forgive me when I sin (and I sin often).  But I know that because Jesus anguished and was tortured and killed, that his bloodshed washed my sins away.  Yesterdays, todays and tomorrows sins have all been paid for.  Your's too.
Don't take it the wrong way, I can't do whatever I please and everything is hunky-doorie.  When I asked Christ into my life, to be my leader, forgiver and savior, and because it was from my heart, he began a change in me.  I slowly wanted to do those things that weren't pleasing to God no more.  Still, I am a man and sin is my nature.  To paraphrase a very wise man,  I find myself doing the things I want not to do and not doing the things I should.
I ask for forgivness, my heart aches for hurting my God but I know I am forgiven.

Sometimes I see an angel.  Like this morning..

An angel with nectar from heaven

Now here are some strange sights in Iowa.  I'm sure many have seen this.  It is right here in the Waukee area.  I think it is really cool..

I think I see George Jetson on the deck

This house was featured on a show called Iowa's Castles.  It has a garage that can hold nearly 40 cars.
So if that is unusual, this is wild.  Driving to a side job north of Granger I spotted this in the middle of nowhere..

A Hindu Temple?  In Iowa farmland?  Who knew?

It was so strange coming upon this miles from anything.  It was off the road about a quarter mile so I drove up to it to get a picture.  It is quite stunning, and a marvel of craftsmanship.  It's amazing what can be accomplished by man.

So, in parting I will leave you with these words.  When you fall, there is someone to lift you up.  Just ask Him.  When you feel small and insignificant, there is someone who wants you.  When you feel you can do no more, there is someone to help you.  Someone to wipe away your tears, heal your hurts, and hold you in His hands.  He accomplishes more than all men who were ever on this earth combined.

He is magnificant, He is incredible, He is joy, He is marvelous and amazing.

He is Love.

Peace

Dan
