Next, Robyn and I headd off to Wal-mart. I needed some stuff for lunches at work and we needed some food for home as well.
I have noticed that whenever Canyon has friends over our pantry somehow drains itself of edible goods. My boy and his friends deny any wrong doing.
So as Robyn and I are shopping I begin to realize that all the food in our cart is not that healthy. As a matter of fact the cart looks like it could belong to Cheech and Chong. But that didn't stop us. We went up to the shortest check out line, and being the Griswalds we soon found out why. We clearly had the champion slow motion checker tending the register. It really took longer to check out that it did to shop. The check out gal did love to chat. I think we had a discussion on every item in the cart. For instance, I found out that her daughter also likes Hot Pockets, not the ones with broccoli though.
When we finally got out to the lot I accidently went to the wrong car. It looked identical to our car so you can understand my mistake. Here is a pic of our car..

And here is a pic of the car I accidently went to get in..
Eeriely simular |
You don't see a lambrogini ant the local Wal-mart everyday. I decided Robyn can get new bedroom furniture if I can get a new car, I think that's fair.
When we got home and put all the groceries it was time for Calvin's quartly hair cut. Some parts of this proceedure he dosen't like, but some parts he truely enjoys. For instance he isn't thrilled with the bath part..
He isn't smiling |
And he dosen't seem to be digging the part where I have razor sharp clippers anywhere near his fuzzy body..
nope, still no smile |
And I suppose it's understandable that he is not happy with those steps because the sheer amount of hair make that part take over an hour. Here is a photo of Robyn behind the mountain of fluff..
We should make sweaters |
Hey! Maybe we should make sweaters, but no, when they got washed they would smell like wet dog.
But the next part of the process I think Calvin loves. He gets a pig's ear...
There's a smile under that furry face |
Tuesday we got the results back from our physicals and blood work. Robyn opened her's first. It was three paragraphs long. Her choleerol is high, her triglycerides are high as well as her LDL and non-HDL. They also said the fats in her blood stream were elevated along with elevated liver function tests. WOW! They suggest diet and daily exersize and staying away from hazardous household cleaners. They want to see her again in the near future.
Then I opened mine. It said 'all your values look good, see you next year'. I think Robyn wanted to punch me. I think she shouldn't take me with her to Wal-mart and I wouldn't pile the cart with crap. We will work on that diet and exersize thing.
Thursday Canyon had some friends over and wanted me to come outside and play 500 with them. I decided to be full time thrower because I didn't want to get pushed and shoved around by a bunch of teen-agers. Robyn took a picture of the boys trying to catch the football but it looks entirely different than that. You take a look..
some kind of strange dance ritual |
Not sure what they are doing but the football is under the swing behind them.
Friday, when I got home from work Robyn asked me if I wanted to take her out to dinner. Duh. Of course I wanted too. She said she wanted to go to Biaggi's. That is a nice place but it was Friday night and we had no reservations. She thought it wouldn't be a problem. We arrived to a full parking lot. We found a spot next to a Dodge Viper. I was sure he would not ding our doors. The girl at the desk said the wait would be 45 minutes or longer, but we saw a long time friend working and told her to pull some strings and see if she could find a table. We went to the crowded bar and ordered a beverage when our buzzer went off. That was very unGrizwald like. Our friend, Peggy, had worked some magic and got us a nice table. We chatted with her for quite a while. She shared some wonderful news and some very sad news. Robyn said we would keep her in our prayers and that seemed to mean something to her. Here is a pic of Peg. She reluctantly let me have this for my blog.
Catching up with a good friend |
Saturday, I had to go into work for a while. We are working on a floor and this was the only time we had to finish it up. It is a multi-day proceedure so we wanted to get the flake put down. Here are some pics. It isn't sealed yet.
Pretty sharp looking |
I will post a pic when it is complete. I headed home because I had a surprise 50th birthday party to go to. My friend, Jaybo's wife set up the surprise party at a place called Incredible Pizza. I got there and knew only a couple of people. I waited for the guest of honor to arrive. He has lots of nieces and nephews. I know this because Incredible Pizza is a lot like Chuckie Cheese, only with a go cart track, and there were at least 100 kids waiting for 'uncle Jaybo' to show up.
Uncle Jaybo |
When he got there, I shook his hand, told him happy birthday, gave him a card and took a picture. Then I snuck out while all the kids jumped on him.
Since Stormy's was near by (I bartend there) I went up there to see who was around. I ran into a friend who had two free tickets to the Principle Golf Charity Classic this weekend. I am going to head up there for an hour or so and I will post any exciting news next time.
That's all for now
Peace
Dan
